Description

The Town bag is handcrafted from our finest Italian saddle hide leather. However, it can also be ordered in a soft hide variation via our bespoke service. Both finishes are available in a wide set of colours to suit your style.

It comes fully lined with suede velour lining on the inside. It features a neat brass tuck lock to ensure your personal belongings are kept safe, and has two internal suede velour lined pockets.

The Town bag gains character over time from its wear, giving it a beautiful and distinctive worn charm.

All our bags and briefcases come with a Mackenzie Leather branded dust bag to protect it while you’re not using it.

I have been eyeing up their bags for the last year or so, and was planning on purchasing this summer on holiday to Scotland. But since the pandemic happened, my trip was canceled. I decided to order online to support the store, and ordered a few different key rings, to be able to make a decision on the color, as I am very particular about the shades I like.
When I finally decided on what color to go for, Simon was a big help and sent me pictures of different color tread options og fixtures next to the color I choose. I wanted the shoulder strap to be a few inches longer than the standard, which was no problem – and with no extra cost!
I ended up ordering a belt in the same color as well, a month later, and asked if they could be shipped together when both were finished – which again was no problem.
I found the costumer service to be unlike anything I have ever experienced before!
My bag and belt shipped on Wednesday and arrived on Thursday, only one day from Scotland to Norway. Incredible!
I am beyond impressed with the quality of my bag, and the size is just what I wanted – big enough for a full day out running errands, but not so big that it gets to heavy either, with the functionality of the push lock closure! I went with the chestnut color, green suede interior pocket and the nickel finish hardware and I just love it!
I can’t wait to use it for years, if not decades, to come!

This bag is a star! I ordered an all navy Town bag a year ago receiving excellent guidance and superb service from the Mackenzie team as always. Although I love my other Makenzie bags, this one has been with me practically every day since it arrived. What is particularly nice about it is the combination of great functionality and elegant design. I simply love the lines, thread and finishings of it! Polishing it regularly has also brought out a wonderful, natural shine of this quality leather. Even a rough Norwegian winter hasn`t left any marks on it!
I can highly recommend this bag and I look forward to visiting Mackenzie`s hopefully in the near future.

The Town bag is my second bag from Mackenzie. The first was a medium saddle bag that I bought over twenty years ago when my daughter was in college there. I have used that bag almost non stop in those twenty years. It has aged so beautifully. I wanted a bigger bag this time. I made a bold color choice this time going for true red all around. It is such a cheery bag. It’s so roomy inside I almost don’t know what to do. My old bag hangs on the hook beside the new one. They are related in their beauty and quality. I look forward to watching this bag age with grace as I know it will.
These bags are worth it.. I am a goldsmith and I see craft and pride in every detail of this beautiful bag.

I have the Town Bag in navy. It is a beautiful shade of navy, the colour really suits the bag well.
I have used my Town bag in rainy weather and snow, and I have taken it to work. Being a sculptor, my workspaces are «robust». The quality of the leather makes the bag ‘shaking off’ all kind of rough environmental influences – after a year, my bag still looks impeccable and new.
I am so pleased with the Town Bag, that I wish for a second one, in another colour; in antique tan (or maybe red?).
The MackenzieLeatherEdinburgh team are so nice to deal with. No problem making orders from abroad. Highly recommended.
