The sporran was inspired by King George IV during his first visit to Scotland when he observed that not only was a small, centrally worn day bag and handy way to transport his belongings, but had the added benefit of preserving his modesty while seated.

Discretion, convenience and practicality is what makes a Sporran useful to a modern day Scot.
